Tyler Rose Advocates

Tyler Rose Self-Advocates is an adult group established to encourage self-advocacy for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Tyler Rose Advocates

The Self-advocates program empowers individuals to cope with the difficulties of life and live up to their greatest potential. Group members receive formal training from The Arc of Texas, The Arc national offices and local advisors to learn how to plan and organize their lives and advocate for people with disabilities. The group meets monthly, elects its own officers, conducts business and exchanges ideas.

Tyler Rose Self-Advocates attend an annual state conference to learn about self-advocacy and receive additional training. At the conference they participate in elections of state officers, board of directors and advisors. The President of Tyler Rose Self-Advocates is a member of the Arc of Tyler’s Board of Directors.
